I’m giving ATLA another watch, and the character writing is… kinda bad?

Worldbuilding is great, the character backgrounds make for interesting plot. But scene-to-scene it’s kind of bland? Sokka might as well not be there most of the time, and the other character interactions are almost as predictable as his.

That makes it feel like pacing could be tighter, even though the drip-feed of plot can get pretty generous.

Maybe it gets better in Book Two?
