But cleaning nonetheless. Quite aggressive, too.
It’s been a long time coming, and an even longer time necessary. I’m going to do a clean install of my entire operating system. The poor thing’s gotten worse and worse over the years, with more and more weird issues popping up and disturbing my flow at increasing frequency. That’s not all that surprising when you consider I’m on a system that has been carried over across updates after being “born” way back in 2006. Not to mention, I’m lagging three versions behind the most recent update!
Starting from a clean slate will not only allow me to leave behind a lot of cruft, but also take a different approach to things this time. I’ll be using a different package manager, installing a different program to use as my default code editor, taking a better approach to system security, setting things up to be automated, etc.
Problem is, this is going to take time. So much time. Manually moving stuff over, fiddling with unfamiliarities. This’ll be a fun week.
