Unlearning

Try not to not do things for too long.

Because my word can getting back into something be hard. You vaguely remember the broader strokes, but forgotten all the tiny details that you really do need to make things fall into place properly. If anything, you need to expect this. Running into a wall like this, without being mentally prepared, it’s painful.

I’m having trouble implementing the simplest of gamedev concepts, and it’s hurting my soul. Things seem fragile, even if they do work the lightest touch sends them falling over. Refactoring is very necessary, and feels good, but takes too long because of this. I get stuck trying to do too many things at once, captured between struggles.

One day, this is going to be easy again.
