Not dead!

A hundred percent officially certified alive. Not quite healthy, but getting there!

Got my wrist checked out today, and my worries were thankfully unwarranted, mostly. Waltzed into the ER, got some x-rays taken, some professional eyes looking at it. Within a few hours I was out the door with only a splint to show for it. Doctor said it wasn’t actually broken, and that the previous injury seems to be holding up nicely, but they put this thing on just to give it as much opportunity to heal as possible.

I get to cut this thing open myself a week from now, and if it still hurts by then I get to come back for a second look. Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that, I already want to go back to being able to shower without a plastic bag covering my arm.

But hey, it could’ve been way worse. If this actually broke again I would’ve had this casted up for at least a good month or two. Taking it easy for the rest of my time here wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, but having to take it easy would come pretty close.

Lesson learnt though: do your descents on familiar paths. They can be a bitch.

If all else fails, you can try wearing a Nintendo Power Glove. I hear those give you +5 to climbing and +2 to awesomeness.

(Note: I have never hurt myself while hiking, though by all rights, I should have)

You did indeed learn a valuable lesson. It would have sucked to have everything hampered by an injury. Just take things a little easier and you should be able to progress as normal without being forced to do nothing while you wait for your arm to heal.

Well, the news could be much worse than “I have to wear a bag over my hand when I show.” Hope next week sees more improvement!
