Yesterday was a great success!
Surely few things come closer to an LA experience than cruising beachward in a convertible. It’s been forever since I’ve been in one of those, let alone riding it through Los Angeles. Okay, it wasn’t LA proper, but the aesthetic was definitely there. The beach itself was great too, huge big waves to play around with like a child that first discovered the ocean. And it wasn’t even that busy. There were a lot of people, but it wasn’t packed all that tightly really.
The unofficial Urbit meetup was great too! Got to meet a whole bunch of cool people. Some I had spoken with online before, others showed up because the project seemed vaguely interesting to them and a friend invited them over. And again there was this feeling of “if this all succeeds these early days are going to be so fun to look back on”. Just a bunch of people, grilling it up in someone’s back yard, shooting the shit about a better future that actually came.
Hopefully! For now, let’s just try and somehow get back to SF.
