They’re neither smart nor comfortable, but I do ’em anyway.
The date of departure is drawing closer and closer. After tomorrow my adventure starts, and for some reason it feels like it hasn’t really sunk in yet. Still, I know it’s gonna happen, and I’m all too aware that there’s a bunch of people I won’t be seeing for the next couple of months. With that in mind, I can’t not try my best to see them during my last weekend here, right?
Well, that’s a fine line of thinking, and you’d guess it’s good times for everyone. And it is! Except for the me who has to wake up after sleeping no more than a short five hours, inhale breakfast, and nurse a fair headache while heading to our weekend hike meet-up spot. That may have been one of the most difficult things I have done lately, but with the power of friendship I overcame my suffering and had a fulfilling hike.
I’m gonna miss these folks, every single one of them. On the other hand, it’s not uncommon these days to not see some people for a month or two, so I’m not going that far off track.
Tomorrow I pack my stuff and go to bed early. This still doesn’t feel real.
