I went shopping today!
And came home, hundreds of Euros poorer, with only three kilograms (6.6 lbs) of gear to show for it. But hey, if I can fit all of a sleeping bag, mat, and a cooking set into those kilos then that’s probably worth the money! Seriously, this stuff weighs practically nothing. It’s amazing how lightweight they can make backpacking gear these days. My tent is by far the heaviest item, at a whopping 1.3 kgs (2.9 lbs). Second place is far below, the sleeping bag at 830 grams (1.8 lbs).
It feels great having all this gear gathered, and the last few pieces on the way. Builds up that hype for the trip itself, while also sneakily being part of that adventuring feeling. I guess it also helps that if I accidentally forget something, I can always just buy it in the States instead.
You just know I’m not going to shut up about this for a little while.
