Well, I have now quit my job.
Technically, I am now “between jobs” as they say. Practically though, I have something right around the corner, and I’m so excited about it I’ll probably put forth some work over the weekend already. In case you missed it, I quit my job because I have the opportunity to go work on Urbit full-time instead! I know of no better way to describe this than my dream job, and considering the amount of times I’ve talked about and hinted at Urbit on the blog so far I’m sure you can see why.
I’m extremely excited to become a much more serious part of this. I would’ve already been, as a contributor, had it not been for responsibilities like studies and work interfering with that. But now Urbit is work and my only worry is that I shouldn’t burn myself out.
And it seems they’re excited to have me on board as well! They have this very unique, we’ll-make-it-perfect software stack. Martian software, if you will. They can’t just pick and choose senior engineers from the valley. Those don’t have experience with any of it, and are likely stuck in their own mud to boot. I, on the other hand, have already shown I know how to do things within their strange new environment.
This thing is kicking off with a trial period of approximately two months. I’ll prove I’m worthy!
