Looks like it’s going to be all work-related posts on the weekdays from here on out.
There’s lots of new things for me to learn right out of the gate, it’s really overwhelming. But even after that, I’ll have to keep learning if I want to stay sharp and up to date on the latest tech. One of the principles of software design my company follows is that they strive to follow market standards where it’s possible. Because standards are ever-evolving, so should be the skill-set of the people working with them.
Luckily, the company provides us all with accounts for PluralSight, a platform for e-learning. It has all kinds of courses, from programming to image manipulation. There’s definitely cool things to be learnt there, and we even get a couple of hours every week dedicated to doing just that!
But, as I said, I still have a lot of catching up to do, so that goes first. Even then, I’m fairly sure there’s some sort of guidance we’ll be following to help us decide what course to pick next. Maybe I can squeeze some hours in during my off time though, for fun.
Because I’m super glad I got out of school, but learning I’ll want to keep doing.
