Lefty challenge

A fun way to spend the holidays.

For those still not in the know, I have my right arm in a cast after an extreme karting accident. Broke a bone by ramming my kart into some other dude, if you know what I mean ;-). This means that for my left arm’d sake, I’m dictating most of what I type now, and it actually “translates” smiley-faces for me. Unfortunately, that also means it has trouble writing anything that sounds like “winky-face”.

It truly is a joy though, having my arm wrapped up all cozy like this. And so I feel almost obligated to share it with you all. I hereby tag Mark, “Brian and Brendan” (thanks, dictation) and Nasreen to take part in the Lefty Challenge with me! Break something in your right arm, got it cast, and join in my suffering for the next six or so weeks! Of course, don’t forget to tag three other people as well.

Of course, because this is the blogosphere (Holy shit, it actually recognize that!) failure to participate in a meaningful way will result in the immediate disapproval of thousands of blogonauts. In other words, a fate worse than death.

Now, if only I could figure out how to teach this dictation thing codewords…

I kinda need my arms to work but I can dictate a post. I tried to do that for work once and it did not go well. Speech recognition programs hate my voice. It seems to be going pretty well for you though. Hope your arm isn’t in that cast for too long. The last (and only) time I broke a bone I was lucky enough to break my left wrist.

I actually learned how to play video games one handed (-ish; I was still able to use the thumb stick with my left hand).

Now THIS is a challenge! All of those other so-called challenges are wimpy compared to this one. “Mannequin Challenge – sit still for 10 seconds while someone films it!” Yeah, okay, grandma. How about you be a real man and break your arm?

With that said, as we are two people but one entity, do we both have to break an arm? Or just one of us breaks an arm? And as an ambidextrous fella, does this automatically disqualify me? Because using my left only isn’t really a problem unless you need me to do something with two hands like open a pickle jar or choke a bitch. Winky face?

Both of you break half an arm, that sounds fairest. Needing to choke a bitch but not being able to do so from conventional methods is part of challenge. Good luck!

This is horrible. I’m so sorry.

I have broken some of my own metacarpals not to participate in your blog game, but just out of a sense of camaraderie.

I’ll allow it. 10 points to Nasreen!
