Not to be confused with wisdom of the crowd.
Group together a bunch of people who work in related areas, and they’ll be able to give you a detailed view of everything. Everyone carries a lot of knowledge with them all the time, but what exactly it is, isn’t the same for everyone. This can be leveraged to form a broader pool of information, especially if there’s some kind of overlap for people to hook into when sharing their knowledge.
This is sort of what I did with today’s meeting, gather some people to harvest their knowledge on all that’s wrong and terrible with their current software architecture implementation. And of course, everyone likes to complain, so it went swimmingly.
Judging from the writing in this post it’s been a long day though, time for bed.
