Fang Talks

Touch Fluffy Tail

Imagine a month or two of hard work and royal stress going by. (previous)

Two knocks on an open door. ‘Roward, I think we need to talk.’ Sheepishly Livia walked into the office and sat herself down, in the same chair she had signed to inherit her quest.
Jean stopped writing and looked up, but said nothing.
‘I can’t do it.’ She stammered for a bit, trying to find the sentences she had rehearsed for this. ‘I just can’t, I’m sorry.’
He sighed, leaned back in his chair. ‘But your majesty, last I heard you were making wonderful progress. What happened?’
‘The lead was good and I think we found the key actions, but…’ Her voice trailed off, the last bit of enthusiasm fading. ‘But it’s just not going to work. I can’t do this for you, Roward. I am not your queen.’
‘I know.’ Jean responded with a smile. ‘A pleasure to finally hear you say that yourself.’

A short silence fell before Livia let out a short burst of unfinished words and sentences. ‘So,’ she slowed down, ‘You tricked me?’
‘I merely ignored the holes in your tightly-woven web of lies. I would consider my hands among the cleanest in this castle.’
She smashed open palms onto the desk. ‘And was it worth it? Getting everyone’s hopes up while setting me up for failure? Layering new facades onto an already shoddy monarchy? What do I tell Remi, that her big sis was a fraud all along?’
Jean clasped his hands togethers and leaned forward. His voice came out a bit hushed. ‘Our monarchy is fine. And I would not worry about Remi, I imagine she has seen through your play already, she’s rather observant.’ He cleared his throat, reverting him back to his normal speaking volume. ‘As for your possible failure, allow me to remind you of your contract. Bureaucratic bonds are surprisingly strong. You may not be queen by blood, but you are one by law. Act like one, succeed like one.’

Bleh. Conclusion (hopefully) in the next part. (next)

Love it. What a curve ball.

“Awww, but I don’t want to be president!”
You won it fair and square, sir. You have to be president now.
“But it’s soooo much harder than I imagined! I just don’t want to anymore!”
Sorry, but it’s the law now. You HAVE to be president, Mr. Trump.

    (I hope not)

Ahh seems I skipped a part and you didn’t gloss over this. Forget my earlier criticism! She is leaglly a queen now I suppose.

Haha… The rise and fall of a queen.

I felt the same way when I was elected head of an organizaiton in college. 5 minutes after my hard-earned victory, I wanted out.
