Boy it sure has been a year, hasn’t it?
Last year I didn’t do a huge write-up because nothing super duper special happened. This year I won’t be doing a huge write-up because it’d take me more time than I have left. And I’m writing this a day in advance, go figure. 2015 was a nice year though. It had its ups, it had its downs. A nice balance, just like it’s supposed to be, right?
Definite highlights of the year include those last few weeks of internship right at the start, and then getting to come back a couple of months later, as a real part-time employee. I’ve learnt a lot there, definitely one of my most valuable experiences to date. Sort of tying into that, the recent corporate contact I’ve had was an oddly surprising twist. Never expected to get invited by so many companies! Here’s hoping next year brings some good news regarding all that.
2015 also brought me great pain and suffering. You know, the whole deal with RSI and my hands being shit. Toughest thing I’ve faced, and sadly continue to face. It’s going better now, I can keep it under control. I just fear the day things go downward again.
The half-year break I ended up with because of the above did allow me to depart on my “grand adventure” sooner though. This year I set foot outside of Europe for the first time in my life. Peru was absolutely amazing. A beautiful country with an interesting and friendly culture, definitely vastly different from what I was used to. I think I can say I have a broader perspective on things now, even if just a little.
All in all I’d say 2015 was a good year. How did y’all fare?
