Fang Talks

The post you're reading right now is a prophecy.

Complaining is super easy, right?

Maybe this is a bit whiny, or just a non-problem, but I feel like constantly delivering good news about your personal ventures is rarely well received. It’s fine as long as you keep it short and/or humble. Much more and it may become a bit of a bother. Jealousy may be a factor here.

It’s probably something I’m making up most of the time, but of course it’s a fairly real thing when talking to people who are in less ideal situations. Telling them all about your lucky breaks doesn’t exactly help alleviate the pain from their struggles, now does it?

All kind of problematic when you’re like “holy shit all these big companies want a piece of me” and want to talk about how weird an experience it is to you, but don’t want to become that guy that seems to suck up all the luck of those around him.

I don’t know, it’s weird being in a position like this in general. Growth, I suppose?

I don’t mind people talking about their successes. I just don’t enjoy people talking about financial success. Or when they’re doing something I’m trying to do. I think humans just can’t help it. A friend of mine is approaching publishers and if she gets accepted I’ll be very happy for her, but part of me will still think “Why not me?”
