Boy it sure has been a year, hasn’t it?

Last year I didn’t do a huge write-up because nothing super duper special happened. This year I won’t be doing a huge write-up because it’d take me more time than I have left. And I’m writing this a day in advance, go figure. 2015 was a nice year though. It had its ups, it had its downs. A nice balance, just like it’s supposed to be, right?

It’s that lovely time of year again, new year’s eve right around the corner.

Everyone celebrates the rollover differently. Me, I’ll be hanging with a bunch of friends, most of which I’ve only ever spoken over Skype. They invited me to come though, so it’s going to be good times for sure. It’s the first time in quite a few years that I don’t join up with the larger chunk of our regular group of friends. At least it’s something new again!

Long time no see

I’m hosting another reunion today!

It’s been quite a while since the last one. Well over a year, if I recall correctly. And some people weren’t present back then, so it’s been a really long time since I last saw some of the folks that will be showing up tonight. The people that made high school a great time, but who I didn’t keep in touch with for whatever reason.

So apparently there’s more and more people in my country that are totally for banning personal-use fireworks.

Okay, I’ll say it, it’s a solution. But it’s likely not the best one. There’s a whole lot of trouble every year with people injuring themselves because they weren’t careful enough or because they bought illegal/bootleg fireworks, which have the tendency to blow up in your face for no apparent reason. Also some people complain about the noise?

It’s become a yearly tradition as this point.

Since it’s hard to get a large group of friends together for christmas or new year’s eve (or that racist Dutch saint), we compress all those holidays together into a single evening. We eat foods, we drink drinks, and play a fun presents roulette game the host made up a couple years ago. The turn-up this year seems kind of meagre, but we’re still doing in anyway!
