As I’m setting up all these scheduled posts, I take a look at some post ideas I jotted down in my drafts list.
There’s actually some really old drafts in there. Not necessarily of posts I intended to make. The larger part is actually writing scraps from real long ago. 2011 is the farthest back it goes. I had no idea what I was doing back then, just writing parts of stories that seemed cool to my edgy teen mind. Kind of embarrassing, but good to have as a point of reference for improvement.
As little as I actually do with it, I’m glad those drafts are still there. Transferred over from the time I was still using Blogger to host this thing. Just checked, there’s some on Google Drive too. Pages upon pages of what would be classified as world building rather than actual story writing. How naive I was.
But yeah, I’ve covered this before I believe. Here’s the message again: We life in the information age. Saving things is easier than ever before, and it’s a good idea to do so. It’s always nice to be able to look back, either to see how much you’ve grown, or to recycle ideas that once appealed to you.
The information age’s crazy good, you better contribute to it!
