The television series, not “the place to be for tech”. The two are related though, obviously.
Just found out about it today, have only seen the first two episodes, but it’s already caught me. Silicon Valley is about a tech startup in Silicon Valley (who would’ve known?) that developed an unprecedented compression algorithm. What follows are all kinds of struggles relating to the startup life and all the tough choices and business that comes with it.
I can already appreciate the show after two episodes because it’s about a topic somewhat relevant to my interest, the humor’s decent, and they get the programmer jargon right. It isn’t the main focus or anything, but since the algorithm is, well, a computer science thing, it pops up a nice amount of times. And it’s really nice to see someone’s finally getting that shit right.
There’s already a season two happening apparently, so it must be doing something right, eh?
