Offensive texts

I just remembered I have a folder full of “offensive” wallpapers. Like this, or this.

Sure they’re great and all (though some overdo it and throw in some lame sociopath shtick, or just have horrible typography), but why is that? What’s so hilarious about some text making a random statement involving all the things our mothers wouldn’t want to hear us say? …Maybe that’s the cause, right there? Being forbidden from saying such things for so long that they’ve naturally turned into a fun and easy way to rebel?

It could be that, or we may just all have a thing for absurd phrases? “Cowabunga” used to be a thing all the cool kids said, and look at how ridiculous a word that is! There’s something odd about the, well, odd that never fails to pull peoples interests it seems. And since such short phrases or images are easy to share, they can spread like wildfire.

But then again, what do I know? I just needed something to write about (whining isn’t an option folks) and this is a topic I stumbled upon.

Oh and kids, remember…

Why didn’t I know until now that offensive wallpapers are a thing? Those are great. I like these short phrases more than I like those stupid instagram ones that go viral. “Things boys do: when they talk to you.” Tween idiots everywhere: OH SWOON!

(See? Whining is always an option)
