Adventure Time!

Because as far as choosing web hosts goes, I am simply the pickiest there is.

As I continue to be dissatisfied with my current (GoDaddy reseller) web host, and with the end of this year of hosting drawing near (about three months left, hoo) I am once again searching for alternatives. Not just any old web hosting will do though. I will need a Virtual Private Server so I can host game servers for my games if needed (and the ability to install custom software doesn’t hurt either), and I need it cheap. That’s right, I want a VPS that isn’t horribly expensive in the eyes of my wallet. And let me tell you, that ain’t easy.

I went here and there. One promised me unlimited space and bandwidth, but had terrible reviews. The other had somewhat decent prices, but very limited (affordable) disk space and a couple of negative reviews as well. This went on for a couple hours as I put a couple small scratches on the surface of literally a metric shitton of contenders. But then it happened.

A small tear of joy rolled down my cheek as I inspected the specs and pricing. What? Only a measly 17 Dollars a year more than I’m currently paying? A bargain! Some stuff in their acceptable use policy was a bit vague though, I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to run my game stuff on them. Shot them an email through their support contact form. Within, what, an hour they had already replied. Man that was fast! And they brought good news, too. Better hosting (supposedly really fast too), way better support, and not a single negative review in sight? Sign me up. (It’s WebFaction by the way.)

Tried out their trial, seems like they got a bretty gud custom backend. I think we have a winner here. So happy.

I’m happy with what I got really. It’s not like I want to switch things up, or use the hosting for anything else. I’m glad you were able to find something good that works for you though. I try to ignore negative reviews at times. Positive ones for that matter too. I just don’t find them all that reliable but hopefully your new host is.
