Are they a myth?
Headphones are really cool. Not talking earbuds, or those in-ear “headphones”. I mean the real deal, those big clunky things you really shouldn’t be taking away from your workstation. Though not as compact, mobile as earbuds, they pack a way stronger punch and can really bring forth the best of your music if you have a good pair. Sadly, they get rather expensive real quick, and I don’t want to drop hundreds of bucks them. Well, at least I still got my lovely speakers.
But the price isn’t the only problem I got with headphones. It’s so hard to find ones that are actually comfortable. Sure most will be fine for the first couple minutes, but if you keep ’em on for longer than an hour they’ll start to hurt your ears, or you’ll feel like they’re too tight around your head. And don’t even get me started on glasses. Having those on and then putting on a pair of headphones tends to be a really bad idea. The legs’ll get stuck between your head and ears, pressed tightly, and get extremely uncomfortable within minutes.
I once tried on a pair of Sennheisers that perfectly encased my ears instead of awkwardly putting pressure on them. That was perfect! Still didn’t solve the glasses problem, but that was a minor annoyance now that all other problems were solved. I didn’t jot down what type they were though, and I haven’t really actively searched for them. Chances are the things are old and out of production by now.
Eh, if you can find a pair that fits you nicely, totally worth it.
