I’d throw a party but the government still hasn’t issued funds for Professionally Awesome Blogonauts yet, and I myself can’t afford plane tickets for y’all.
This is fucking wow. No words, really. I’d attempt to describe how this makes me feel, but honestly it’d be pretty boring. It doesn’t feel that much different, and not all that significant a milestone either. Still, seeing “Published (1000)” in Blogger makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Warm and fuzzy, but also slightly weirded out. Who in their right mind makes a point out of writing a blog post every single day and keeping that going for over two and a half years?
I fall into that category now. Have been doing so for a while already, actually. I remember starting out with the idea to make a bit of pocket money through AdSense. Had some good connections for that going, but soon enough I ended writing posts for the fun of it (and partly out of habit as well). Fast-forward a couple months, a year maybe, and I dropped the ads completely. Liberation.
No denying that of these thousand posts, at least 30% is worthless gibberish. 40% even, I’m willing to bet. I still love those posts though. They’re part of what made me who I am, kind of like all the people I ever met, except much less significant.
The greater picture, the collective of all these posts, is mighty significant though. Numerous positive influences on my life which I’ve already gone over at least three times now. (High time you take a stroll through the badly formatted archive, eh?) Needless to say, I regret nothing.
It’s been an amazing thousand posts, special thanks to all who cared to stop by, yadda yadda, the usual. Can’t be said enough though. I may be blogging for myself here, but having readers, people interested in these steaming piles of whatever, it just adds that little special touch. So, thank you.
Sorry if the lack of cool contests or giveaways disappoints you. I’ll probably have another lame redesign out by the third anniversary though, so there’s that.
