But it’s a tad late, don’t you think?
So I’ve been inspired to start doing gamedev again. I’m going to start working on a mystery dungeon game (2D dungeon-crawler rougelike, whatever) of my own. Seems like a really fun project, and I have an idea of how I’m going to approach it now. Program some basics while figuring out the best way to handle the system as a whole, then plan that out ahead of time. This’ll allow me to, hopefully, write the basis of the game without having to rewrite it ten times.
The motivation comes kind of late though. School starts again on Monday, something I’m not sure I’m looking forward to. So far the only subject that really speaks to me is “datastructures and algorithms”. Then again, all I know about the subjects to far are their names, so judging them this soon might not be a good idea. So, eh, I’ll spend somewhat sizable parts of my days at school again (lucky it isn’t a nine-to-six thing like some of my friends have), so there goes a bit of free time. Hopefully I can get most schoolwork done there and in the train, so I won’t have to do as much at home.
We’ll see how it goes, I’ll keep y’all updated as usual. If I recall correctly there’s a new Caves tomorrow. Tomorrow, the day I intended on using to rest up and prep what little needs to be prepped. Oh well, it’ll work out. I should probably try writing it in the afternoon instead late at night like I usually do.
