Fang Talks

Lua is love. Lua is life.

Watched a friend finish Bioshock Infinite last night, and boy was it fucking awesome.

I hadn’t followed the entire plot, never played the game myself, but I could still make out enough to get an idea of what was going on. Amazingly well-done game, and the plot definitely isn’t lackluster.
Then the credits rolled. All those names with all those different roles, always amazing to see. It was amusing how some employees got to place a little message of their own in there as well. “Thanks to NES games and my parents”, or something along those lines. Great stuff, and it all gave me that feeling, boy it must be great to have your name up there, to have contributed to such an awesome project.

The AAA industry still isn’t my thing though. At least, I think so. But just, it would be amazing to be able to say “yeah, I contributed to that thing that sold millions and got great reviews all around”. Not that something similar can’t be accomplished by an indie studio, oh no. In the end, it’s all that same sense of accomplishment that comes with completing a project. Which reminds me, I need to get back to working on things. But vacation… so nice…

Reading the credits is something I definitely recommend. You’ll be amazed by the amount of people who worked on something. And then there’s the really obscure roles/jobs too. Some companies like to put in little in-jokes or easter eggs. Always be on the lookout for those.

Bit of a jumbled mess, this post, but whatever, it’s something.

Didn’t you see my review on Bioshock Infinite? You should still play the game though, it’s great. I’m really looking forward to the DLC.
