Let’s see if we can finish this one as well.
So with Trash Sweeper done, and a new month started, I figured I should start working on a new game as well. The opinions on the theme for the June Boot Camp are pretty divided, and most people just picked their favorite and started working with that. One of the ideas was to make a CommunityWare game. Similar to WarioWare, but with all the minigames built by the community. Great idea, but the execution feels somewhat lacking. It gave me an idea for something to work on, though.
I’ll be making a Warioware-esque game of my own. Seems like a fun challenge to not only come up with tons of different minigames, but also a good and easy way to implement them, without having to do lots of stuff over and over again. I’m currently working out OOP in Lua (because yes, I’ll be making it in LÖVE again), and it’s going pretty well so far. I think I’ve more or less managed to wrap my tiny, stupid head around it. I hope I can get to some more in-depth code designing tomorrow. Need to put some real thought into that before I make it, don’t want to spend days on end refactoring halfway through.
That’s my project for this month, pretty much. I won’t be keeping it as a strict deadline, but it’d definitely be great if I can get it mostly finished before then. As long as I have something cool to work on I’m happy though. I always feel hella bad if I do nothing but bum around all day, especially when I know there’s still so much to do.
Last real week of school start tomorrow. Only exams and projects after that.
