Fang Talks

Burbit

So, today’s the 21st of April, marking the official end of the Spring Boot Camp.

The Pet Plant Sim isn’t completely done yet. Most of the work lies in getting the sprites from my artist and implementing them. The rest is just polishing existing features, making sure everything is being displayed correctly, yadda yadda. I don’t care much for the deadline, since it’s nothing strict and I’m not required to submit it. But don’t worry, you’ll definitely be able to download it once it’s finished.

I had a lot of fun making it. I basically jumped head-first into Lua and LÖVE, and learned a lot from it. I’ll probably make a couple more 2D games in it, both to learn from, and try and see how some game mechanics I had in mind would work out. I’ll also have to step up my game when it come to art. Haven’t really made any sketches lately, should probably do so before I go to bed.

Will probably also look into setting up games.fang.io, you know, for showcasing the stuff I’ve made, allowing people to download and play it, have some fun. I’ll definitely need to launch the portfolio first though. It’s been sitting there, pretty much finished, for quite some time now. About damn time I put it up there, don’t you think?

Hope you all had a nice weekend, I know I have!

My last final is on Wednesday. If you need a beta tester let me know. I’m pretty good at breaking stuff. :P

I was wondering if we’d ever see these games. Create games.fang.io, and I may never leave the site. But yes, put up that portfolio already! Especially if it’s already done.

Yes you need to get something done with your portfolio. Bad Fang, bad. Although the game seems to have been pretty fun for you to do yeah, and you should definitely make more. You should make a simulator of a simulator. I’ve actually played those before and some aren’t bad at all. Plus it was before Inception came out so there weren’t any lame “x-ception” jokes.
