It feels like a more or less wasted day.
I didn’t get particularly much done today. Looked up some stuff relating to my game for the next Boot Camp (how does Bus Driving Xtreme sound?), messed around a little, did a few small art things, fired up Unity for the first time in ages, and closed it again shortly after. Need to do some more reading up on other people’s scripts (and learn from those) before I dive in. Oh well, that’s all pretty normal, I suppose.
Also more or less finished up a sprite I’ve been working on for the past two days. Well, finished up. I just can’t be bothered tweaking it anymore, it’s time to move on. Based off of a sketch I made of a dinosaur figure, it’s my first serious attempt at making larger (ie not tiny and pixelated) sprite. I incorporated some things I’ve read recently, and I think it turned out alright.
Oh and I opened up Blender again, to try and make a placeholder bus model. Holy shit I haven’t touched this in way too long. 3D modeling is hard in and of itself, but if you don’t know your tool inside-out then you’re pretty much screwed. I spent approximately half an hour making a placeholder model that is basically a cube with indentations and some cylinders. So bad. Someone recommended I give Wings3D a shot, but that’s completely new to me, and less popular than Blender. I’d rather stick to my guns, and hope they don’t backfire.
One more day of school tomorrow, and it’s break time after that!
