Amateur Everything

Inspiration’s all cool, especially when it comes out of nowhere. I get a bit trouble when something inspires me though.

For example when I’m looking for a neat plot device, and I just can’t think of anything. I browse the web, watch some shows, and one of those things gives me the idea for the plot device I need, often because it’s almost and exact copy of the one in the thing that inspired me. And that’s just so ugh.

I always feel like I’m ripping stuff off when I draw my inspiration from it. I know, everything’s been done before, doing something original is nearly impossible. But it still feels bad to take such literal ideas from someone else’s work.

And then there’s my talent for ripping off stuff I do not yet know about, which is always quite the bummer when you find it out. But as I said, it was to be expect.
I’m rambling on here, and I’ve made my point already. Hella short post, but hey, that’s what you get for having me play Pokemon Red for most of the evening.

Tomorrow’s Wednesday, and Thursday comes after that.

Yeah but it’s Pokemon Red so nobody blames you. If you’re worried about stealing so literally from people then just steal less. Rework and reimagine what they’ve done. Even if you change it just a little, you’ll feel slightly better.
