Fang Talks

It’s supposed to be calming, but it infuriates me sometimes!

Done quite a few of phone-calls lately that involve “waiting in line”, so I’ve heard my fair share of elevator music, telephone edition. Elevator music’s cool, since you can just get out where you need to and you know how long you’re stuck with it (usually not very long) and everything. On the phone, this is an entirely different story.

Thing is, you’re impatiently waiting for someone to get to you (or you to get to someone, rather) so you can have your very important query handled appropriately. The phone-call is usually a last resort type of thing, so you’re already slightly pissed.
And then they throw shitty waiting music at you, which is only twenty seconds long and just keeps on looping the same old thing.

At least put some effort towards making the wait pleasant! You can’t just rip a random (attempt at) jazz loop from the internet and expect it to work. Hell, you may even be better off switching tunes every now and then, or taking the easy way out and using a non-stop music radio station!

I just, ugh. It’s interesting at first, but the music’s usually so bland that I figured out all the different instruments and everything within the first ten seconds.

Or they could, like, speeding up their phone support.

Normally when I get stuck on hold, it’s a piece of classical music. Which would be nice, if it was longer than a very short loop -_-
