Finals 1/7

Wow wow okay holy shit it has actually started! Finals are here, and today I took the first of ’em.

We were supposed to be there fifteen minutes early, so I decided to come thirty minutes early… just like everyone else. Okay cool.
Go and sit down in the sports hall, with all these separate little tables set up for us and whatnot. Huge stack of paper for us to use. All the nervousness-inducing goodness.
Some teachers tells us some stuff, nothing that important, and then it was almost half past one. “We’ll wait one more minute!” Had to start exactly on time just as the entire Dutch student population.
OKAY GO

The exam consisted of two texts. One about experiencing time and how it affects society, and one about the non-written ban on “accessories” on and in houses. We had to answer questions about the former, and make a summary containing points from the latter.
Questions: no biggy.
Summary: shit it’s a summary, but that’s cool, I got this.

Quickly jotted down my answers on the test itself after finishing, so I could take those home and check it with the answers. (Those get published online as soon as the exam in question is finished.)
So I got home, did the checking, and surprise surprise, 38 out of 49 points. I guess that’s about a 7 once they made up their minds about the way to grade this exam.

Jolly good start, I do say. Got the rest of the week off, and I really need that. Got a shitload of finals squashed together in the second week, so I’d better make sure to prepare properly for those. (Oh God biology and physics!)

Good luck to those who have others exams to do this week!

You got out of Dutch with a lot more grace than most of the rest of us. I never really checked how many points I had but I had so. many. mistakes. TTwTT.

Well done with your first obstacle. You’re lucky that math isn’t one of your weak subject. I remember how many times Calculus with Trigonometry crushed me like a bug during the final exam. Of course, when I say “crushed” I meant “pulverized”.

Well done on that score :) Though I hate checking my answers after an exam!

That did actually go pretty well for you, well done :) Summaries are easy, you can say anything you want. As long as you can explain it, you get points. History tests and English lit tests are awesome for this. Just say whatever you want and justify it. Instant grade.

      Sadly, not really true.
It has to contain certain points and can’t be longer than a certain amount of words, and the grading specifications for it are generally pretty strict.
Also the word limit ensures that it’s hard to even mention all the appropriate points adequately and not get too many words. >,>.
