Xenophobia

Xylophones would’ve been a cliche for the letter X, and couldn’t think of anything but this, so here we go! BUT FIRST, a public service announcement.

You might’ve noticed we had some MAJOR downtime today. I woke up, saw the transfer was complete, so I wanted to scurry over and upload all my stuff. HOWEVER, a bit of waiting time was required for the file upload thingy to be at the ready, and I didn’t have that time (great day at amusement park today, thanks all!), so I set it up and left before it could finish.
Got back home an hour or two back, saw it was ready, and uploaded all important files. More obscure stuff is still uploading, but most of the stuff you guys need has been uploaded. If anything’s still awry, give me a heads up though! (Also, sure hope Blogger keeps handling my post feeds correctly.)

Xenophobia, the fear of strangers and/or foreigners, is stupid, but logical at the same time. With all the propaganda and higher-ups still being not very nice to non-natives, it isn’t so weird that people have their doubts as to the degree to which they can trust people of another nationality. General fear of strangers, however, is just dumb. Sure there’s a lot of dicks out there, but amongst that group is another one of really nice people who won’t hesitate to help you out shall you need it.

In a few years, the strangers you feared yesterday might be your best friend. Don’t judge them because of the group they belong to from your perspective. You don’t want to be grouped yourself, now do you? Everybody equal, everybody loved, nobody to be truly feared. (Unless you’re sure that guy is trying to get you killed. If that’s the case: run.)

Bye for now!

I don’t think being scared of strangers is dumb at all.

xenophobia is stupid… except when it comes to aliens… aliens are weird…

Or of course if it’s a dragon, or a zebra. Zebras ain’t cool. Unless they talk in rhymes and are racial stereotypes no one really wants to address. Xenophobia, to an extent, is kind of understandable at least. It’s natural to be wary of strangers and people you don’t know. At least to me. You should give people a chance though.

Generalizing groups and singling out those awesome individuals are very different – and often difficult – things to do, as we have all noticed.

    Strangers are scary though :(
