Such a hassle, and it brings such a thrill with it.

Like I said in yesterdays post, this morning I initiated the process of switching to another registrar and web host. Both my domain name and file hosting will be transferred. It’ll cost me 250% of what I paid before, but it gives me 9001% more stuff in return. I can also start leasing away web space under my domain name for really cheap, so those who can’t afford a proper host can still enjoy their own website. Keep your eyes peeled for that service, soon.

So everything’s been initiated, and right now I’m just waiting for my old registrar to give the a-ok for the transfer. In case you didn’t know, a registrar is a company that rents people domain names.
Giving that a-ok can take “up to 5-7 business days” which isn’t really a good thing. It means it’ll probably come unexpectedly. Hopefully not while I’m asleep because that’d mean a much longer downtime than otherwise, since I can’t immediately apply the right settings and upload the files my blog needs.

Also a first for me, this “move to another registrar/host” thing. Pretty exciting, though kind of uncomfortable knowing the shift could happen at any given point during the coming few days.

As I said yesterday, if you can’t access my blog using my own domain name, try instead. Not too sure if it’ll work, but chances are it will. (The blog itself will still look like shit since it’ll have no styling, but hey, at least you can read the words of your one true messiah.)

Enjoy your weekend, folks!

    9001% more stuff… I’d say that’s a pretty good deal :D

And I am YOUR one true messiah. I hope the move goes well but no one really gets OVER 9000 of something.
