Fang Talks

Just like make game!

“But Fang the year has only just started!” Well yeah, goes to show how unbelievable incredible this is.

Overgrowth is the spiritual successor to the fighting game Lugaru (of which the HD version was featured in a Humble Bundle a long while back). It’s still in alpha-stages of development, but already looks soooo gooood.
For now, you just play as this bunny dude (you can switch characters, too), platforming around, fighting off enemy bunnies or even wolves. The combat is skeleton-based, with ragdol physics and all that good stuff. Break your opponent’s neck, insta-kill. Break his legs, you can finish him off easily. A plain hit won’t do too much, it’ll just temporarily disable the enemy’s movements, just like in real life. Swords are pretty much insta-kill, too. One good slice through the body, and you’re dead, just like in real life. No HP, no sloppy shitty mechanics, just pure god-tier combat.

Below is the video that brought the game to my attention. It’s a good enough introduction.

I’m so tempted to buy the alpha, even though my current computer probably can’t run it for shit.

Oh wow, the last game I could think of that had anything even close to this style of gameplay is Resident Evil 4.
