Hello everyone, welcome to the future!
Oh I love that line. But what I’m trying to say is, welcome to 2012!
We’ve got so much in store for you! Smartphones that are faster than your average high-end desktop computer, the answers to Quantum-Mechanics, a non-free, government-controlled internet, World War III, and even the apocalypse! It’s all here, so what are you waiting for, hurry along!
Seriously though, I want to talk about what 2012’s going to be like. It feels weird saying we’re living in 2012 now. It’s a year I’ve been looking forward to for a while now, but now we’re in it all of a sudden. Time sure flows oddly around here.
So what can we expect?
Ultrabooks, really thin yet powerful laptops, are going to dominate the laptop-market. Tablets will continue to gain market share. The government may pass internet-suppressing laws, and if they do, their people are coming for them, wanting them dead.
Some more celebrities are going to die. Commercial trips to the moon for “normal people” will become a thing of the present, or at least soon-to-be-present.
Scientists will find a way to record our thoughts, and the agencies will be using this to spy on us. Luckily, independent hackers are going to kick the agencies and governments’ asses, and bring world peace.
But before it comes to that we may have to face a third world war. China and Russia? Russia and the USA? Those three? European Union against the world? The North Pole vs the South Pole? Who knows, we’ll see. But it’s probably China. It’s always China in war predictions lately. (Just send all those Chinese people into a country, and you’ll have it conquered in no-time.)
My first anniversary bloggaversary will be in about twenty days from now, too. Looking forward to it yet? You should. I got some cool stuff planned, though I’m not telling you yet. (spoiler: it may or may not be ABSOLUTELY FUCKING NOTHING)
And oh, yeah, the apocalypse. Don’t really think the world’s going to end though. I’m thinking major change, not major death. What change? I don’t know. I can take a stab but everyone would declare me a madman right away. Looking forward to December 21st though. Curious.
What do you expect of 2012? Or, to stay more current, how was your new year’s eve? Tell me!
