And that’s a lot, considering it’s just OS and standard updates, no application updates included.
So I thought, okay, cool, I guess I’ll update now.
But no-oh, I don’t have enough free disk space. I need ~13 GB, I have only ~4 GB. ALLEY-OOP.
So there I go, cleaning useless junk off of my computer.
It’s happening… Medium Purge, we’re making this happen!
From a measly four gigabytes of free space, to a pretty decent fifteen free gigabytes.
A lot of old (but small) apps went down my computer’s poop-chute today. They will be sort of missed, and I slightly appreciate the services they’ve done for me.
HOWEVER, the majority of the free space was gotten from moving my photos folder to my external harddisk. Five gigs, up for grabs. Oh I love that feeling.
I’ll be doing the updates now. If I return to a computer with the same amount of free disk space, then curses, that update could’ve been handled way better.
(If that happens, I can conclude it just used all that for unpacking stuff and the likes. If it did everything one by one, or even full-update-downloaded it, it wouldn’t have needed such a preposterous amount of space.)
Wish-eth me the best, my followers.
UPDATE: It now has the exact amount of free memory as before the update. I cleaned for nothing. ):
