Fang Talks

~palfun-foslup

Nothing major guys, settle down already. It’s just a project for school.

Nope, no awesome scripting, either. I’m using an app called GameSalad. It’s a gamedevelopment tool for the Mac. Comes with all kinds of pre-made behavoirs for movement, displaying text, animating, playing sounds, all that jazz.

The Void
You’re walking your dog on Bigleaf Field. All of a sudden, he starts digging into the ground like a maniac. The sky turns dark, and a big gaping void swallows your dog. You try to rescue him, but it seems impossible. The void is repulsing you!
You strumple backwards, and fall onto the grass. You can’t keep your eyes off of the void. Is something moving in there? You shuffle back a bit more, and feel something near your hand. You pick it up and look at it. Some sort of… headset?
Weird, pink blobs start coming out. They seem to move slowly in a random pattern. What if they’re out to get you? One strays a bit far from the void that spawned it, and a mysterious, blood-red flame engulves and kills it. Are you trapped in this field, too?
You hear a soft noise coming out of the “headset” you found. You clumsily put it on, and hear a mysterious female voice talking. “Hey, kid, you hear me? You hear me?” You reply, “Y-yes, I can hear you…”
“Stay focussed kid, no time for introductions. Have you put on the eye-piece yet?” You look around, and see a piece of wierdly shaped glass. You quickly crawl towards it and hold it before your eyes. “Connect it to the ear-piece, you idiot!” The voice screams into your ear, so you quickly try to do as it says. You… succeed.
You look around with your newly found “glasses”, and you can now see a border of flames surrounding you and the void. You are indeed trapped.
“Good. Now, quick basics here. Those pink things are harmless. They’re dumb, stupid, one-celled organismes. They can’t even survive in your world for very long, they die after about 15 seconds or so. You’re better off pushing them into the flames, though. But don’t fall in yourself, you’ll die.”
The voice speaks extremely fast, and you have a hard time keeping up. You have understood that you have to push the critters into the flames, though. But is it really safe to touch them? The voice sounded like she was on your side, so you go ahead and do as she said.

That’s basically how it all starts. It’s going to be a top-view type of game with badies spawning from a void at the center or the screen, and flames at the edges that extinguish when the void has run dry and all the badies are gone. You then move on to the next level, with more evil things in a new void, and possibly even a new weapon to use.

I already copyrighted all that, so get away from my ideas, and make your own.

Have a nice start of the weekend,
~ Fang
